Stunning long bias-cut dress from the 1990s Fenn Wright Manson. Its unique feature is the completely exposed right leg, slit up to the thigh! The velvet gathers beautifully at the front of the bust. The soft viscose velvet glides over the body, with a silk satin lining (which can easily be removed at the atelier to make it shorter, down to the velvet).
The bias cut is a dressmaking technique where fabric is cut at a 45-degree angle to the weave, rather than the straight or cross-grain, to exploit the fabric's natural stretch and fluidity. This diagonal cutting allows the material to drape smoothly and hug the body's curves, resulting in a more flattering and often "slinky" silhouette.
good vintage condition there is only a stitched area in the thigh area see the last photo/reflected in the price
