1920s soft wild silk bias cut slip grey dress. The softest, most slip-resistant wild silk is a rarity. The front features beautiful floral details. The dress is stitched in several places, and there's embroidery (in areas where we suspect there were flaws), and unevenness of the material. We replaced the straps because they were in poor condition.
The bias cut is a dressmaking technique where fabric is cut at a 45-degree angle to the weave, rather than the straight or cross-grain, to exploit the fabric's natural stretch and fluidity. This diagonal cutting allows the material to drape smoothly and hug the body's curves, resulting in a more flattering and often "slinky" silhouette.
the dress is in wearable antique condition for its time, as it is all the imperfections reflected in the price hand wash with similar colours
