Beautiful vintage VDP Italy velvet bias cut dress. A dress made of the softest velvet with a floral engraved print on the fabric, trimmed with beads and crystals. Circa early 2000s. Made in Italy.
The bias cut is a dressmaking technique where fabric is cut at a 45-degree angle to the weave, rather than the straight or cross-grain, to exploit the fabric's natural stretch and fluidity. This diagonal cutting allows the material to drape smoothly and hug the body's curves, resulting in a more flattering and often "slinky" silhouette.
